Hello, Vegas, Your New Gal on the Prowl Has Arrived
Hi, I’m Staci Layne Wilson, and I am thrilled to join the GoLive.Vegas family as your boots-on-the-ground, microphone-in-hand, velvet-rope-adjacent correspondent. Comfortable shoes? Check. Lipstick that survives 110 degrees? Mostly. Curiosity? Always fully charged.
You might be wondering: what qualifies someone to eat, drink, explore, and opine their way across the most electrifying city in America? Well, I’ve been a professional writer since I was 12, when a national magazine decided my opinions were worth publishing. Since then, I’ve written 27 books, directed feature films, and reported for the BBC, Sy-Fy Channel, and Yahoo! Movies, among others. I’ve prowled red carpets, haunted film sets, and interviewed everyone from rock legends to A-list icons.
As part of the GoLive.Vegas family, I’ll be out there covering it all: splashy conventions, grand openings, hidden gem restaurants, stage spectaculars, offbeat art happenings, and whatever glittery surprise the desert cooks up next. There is something uniquely electric about reporting in Vegas, where a Tuesday night can feel like New Year’s Eve with better lighting. No notes. I love it here. This city has a personality unlike anywhere else on Earth, glamorous and gritty, nostalgic and relentlessly new, and I have made it my mission to uncover every secret it’s hiding behind those neon lights. If it’s dazzling, delicious, strange, or spectacular, I’ll be on the scene.
We live in a city of spectacle, but it’s also a city of stories. I’m here to find them and share them. If there’s a grand opening, a headline act, a pop-up, or a party worth knowing about, I’ll be there; probably already holding an appetizer and chatting up the most interesting person in the room.
