Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em: The Mob Museum Is Throwing a Cigar Night You Can't Refuse
by Staci Layne Wilson
The Starlight Plaza goes full Godfather on April 24th, and yes, there’s a cocktail called “The Three Dons.”
If there’s one place in Las Vegas where sipping a smoky cocktail under the open sky feels not just appropriate but practically historically accurate, it’s The Mob Museum. And on Friday, April 24th, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement is leaning all the way into its vibe with Sip & Smoke: Cigar Night at The Starlight Plaza, an evening of fine cigars, craft cocktails, live music, and the kind of ambiance that makes you feel like you should be wearing a pinstripe suit and speaking in hushed tones about “the business.”
Doors (or, you know, the velvet rope situation) open at 6 p.m., admission is free, and every guest receives one complimentary cigar with the purchase of a cocktail or mocktail. You’re also welcome to bring your own stogie, because the Mob Museum has always respected a person who comes prepared.

The Music
Providing the soundtrack to your evening of genteel vice is Mimi and the Rivieras, a Las Vegas act that fits the Starlight Plaza’s retro-cool aesthetic like a tailored lapel. Think the kind of music that makes you want to swirl your drink slowly and gaze meaningfully into the middle distance. Perfect cigar-smoking energy.
The Drinks (And They Are Serious Drinks)
Sponsored by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, the cocktail menu reads like it was written by someone who actually did their homework, and loved every minute of it.
The Three Dons is an espresso martini for people who find regular espresso martinis a little too… agreeable. Built on Grey Whale Vodka, it layers rich vanilla and cherry with a bright citrus finish. Bold, balanced, and named after three dons. No further questions.
The Blink is described as “inspired by a Prohibition-era classic” and is essentially a sophisticated Manhattan cousin with a fortified wine edge, combining Redemption High Rye, Barolo Chinato, Madeira, cassis, cardamom, and blackstrap bitters. Here’s a fun historical footnote for this one: during Prohibition, bartenders didn’t disappear, they went to Europe, Cuba, and the Bahamas, and came back with dramatically more complex palates. The Blink tastes like that education.
The Maple Syndicate is a bourbon Old Fashioned riff featuring Bib & Tucker Bourbon, Cinnamon Liqueur, maple syrup, and Cocoa Bitters. It is, per the menu, “bittersweet and contemplative,” which is honestly the most accurate description of any cocktail ever written. This one is the cigar-pairing drink. Do not argue with this.
The Runner is the zero-proof option, and unlike a lot of mocktails that taste like carbonated disappointment, this one actually sounds like it means business: espresso, non-alcoholic Amaro, and maple syrup. Depth, structure, and you’ll still remember the drive home.

The Starlight Plaza is The Mob Museum’s seasonal open-air rooftop lounge, and it genuinely is one of the cooler spots in downtown Las Vegas, the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re in a scene rather than just at a thing. On April 24th, with a cigar in one hand and a Three Dons in the other, that feeling is going to be hard to argue with.
An offer you definitely shouldn’t refuse.
